Program Participation Scholarship
Guidelines & FAQs
There are two ways to apply for scholarships.
Option One:
- Step 1: Visit campusrec.uccs.edu and click on "Registration"
- Step 2: Click on "Program Participation Scholarship" under "Classification"
- Step 3: Select "UCCS Campus Rec Program Participation Scholarship"
- Step 4: Click on "Sign In" and enter your UCCS credentials
- Step 5: Click on "Register"
- Step 6: Fill out the form and submit
Option Two:
- Fill out the form linked at the top of this page and submit the form to Mandy McBroom at mmcbroom@uccs.edu.
No, Campus Recreation will confirm that status upon receiving your scholarship application.
If you are approved for a scholarship after paying full price for program participation and want to apply that scholarship to a program that is not yet underway, we will credit your student Campus Recreation account to reflect your eligibility scholarship level. Scholarships cannot be applied to a program that is currently underway or already over.
The UCCS Campus Recreation Department will process your application within one week upon receipt of your application form and contact you with the status of approval.
The UCCS Campus Recreation Department will contact you via email and follow-up with a phone call or text after scholarship status determination.
- There is a maximum of 2 program scholarships per person per semester (fall and spring) and one program per person during the summer semester. If you apply for a scholarship after receiving the maximum number of scholarships offered (5) within one year, you still may be awarded a scholarship based upon available funding, but nothing is guaranteed.
- Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget for each respective semester is met.
- The maximum monetary value of a scholarship is $50 per scholarship
- Scholarships may be awarded as 100% paid, 75% paid, and 50% paid throughout the year based on need and available resources.
- Scholarships are limited in some programs due to maximum registration limitations.
- Scholarships are not retroactive.
- Limited to student participation only and cannot be transferred to others or within a household.
SOLE trips, SOLE educational clinics, climbing gym passes, outdoor equipment rentals, bike and ski workshops, intramural leagues and tournaments, club sport registration fees, group fitness classes, progressive training, swim lessons, first aid & CPR classes, lifeguard classes, special events, body composition testing, fitness assessments, and cooking classes.
Forms should be submitted a minimum of ten (10) days prior to the program start date.
- If you withdraw from an enrolled program at least one (1) week before the program start date, you will not have to pay a withdrawal fee.
- If you withdraw late, less than one (1) week before the program start date, you will be responsible for 50% of the program cost.
- Regarding future scholarship applications after late withdrawals:
- After four late withdrawals, your program participation scholarship status may be canceled, and you may not be eligible for future scholarships.
- UCCS Campus Recreation refunds and cancellation regulations are applicable as relevant
One year from the anniversary of the approved date if current UCCS student status is maintained in the semester that the scholarship was awarded for.
